Pastor's
Bible
Several
years ago, I gave a lecture in church on what could happen if the Bible was
assembled in the 20th century rather than thousands of years ago. It
is generally accepted that the Bible is a collection of spiritual and historical
works written by many different people. Some where along the line, somebody or
committee decided what books should be included in what would become the Bible
of record. The Jewish Bible includes only the Old Testament.
The Christian Bible contains old and New Testaments. I decided to
assemble a collection of spiritual literature, my own personal Bible. The books
on this list have influenced my own spiritual path. Just like the regular Bible,
some of these works have been more influential than others. I’ve recently been
asked for a book list of spiritual reading. I’ve updated my original list,
removing some tiles and adding others. They all reflect my personal taste. Allen,
